trailer reflection
I thought my trailer was an okay rough cut, however it needs a lot more work on to make it look more professional and look more like a horror trailer. Due to my audience feedback I thought of a number of key things I need to change to make it look a lot better, these include:
- make the storyline more clear
- re-film the trailer to make it look a lot more professional
- actors be a lot more serious to make it more professional
- look at the candy man trailer and mine trailer resemble that trailer
poster reflection
I feel like I did a good job on creating my poster, and I feel like it meets the codes and conventions of a typical horror poster. Also i feel like the colours used give off an eery vibe and the fading of the girl makes her look like she is dead.
Although I did do a good job, due to my audience feedback I do need to make some changes to my trailer to make it look more professional and add in more of what the audience want. I need to:

- connect the magazine with the poster more, to make them look like they are related
- do some more research into professional films with the same type of storyline (e.g. candy man)
- add more of the storyline to the poster
- add a poem or rhyme about the myth to give it a more of a creepy presents.

magazine front cover reflection
I do feel like my magazine front cover does meet the codes and conventions of the horror genre however I do need to make some changes to it to improve the look.
- I feel like I need to add the date on the magazine because this would allow the audience to know when the magazine got released.
- Make the main image stand out more by adding a glow around the image.
- I need to make the sell lines less stand out to allow the main image to stand out more.
- I also need to make the magazine front cover connect with the poster more so they look like they are related.
audience feedback from poster
I created my magazine front cover on photoshop and posted my final product onto twitter and facebook to get some feedback on how to improve it.
Sam said he likes:
- myth font
- make it bolder
- make the main actress the selling point
- take a low angle shot of the windmill
- write a creepy rhyme or poem about the myth
- use the universal font on dafont.com for the directors and producers etc.
- move text away from main image
Jodie said she likes:
- how the girl looks ghost like by the fading
- font matches the other fonts on magazine - makes them follow and connect
- put coming soon in capitals
- made out the logo to make it look less harsh
- Haley thought my poster was good
- Lauren thought my poster was very good and I don't need to change anything
- Laura thought my poster was good and I don't need to change anything
- Sophie thought my poster was good
She liked:
- colours
- layout
- she thought is was easy to read
- eye catching
- she thought it was intriguing - it makes you want to know what the film is about and why you want to watch it
- she also managed to work out the story line by the poster and magazine front cover
- who the main character is in the film
- she wants to know more about the child
- she thought i need to try and put a connection between the poster and the magazine front cover to know that they are linked and relate to each other
- she also thought that i could make up an interview with a famous star to lure more potential audience in and persuade them to watch it.
audience feedback from trailer
i decided to post my trailer on twitter and facebook to get some feedback to find out on what people like, dislike and ways to improve it.
I got some useful feedback from Twitter and this what evidence of this:
- Heather thought the music could be used all the way through the trailer but the costume and makeup of the girl looks very effective.
- Abigail thought the trailer was professional and interesting to watch
- Elisha thought the trailer is good and realistic
- Laura thought the trailer was good however my friends need to be more believable.
- haley thought the trailer was good and very well documented and produced however my characters need to be more realistic.
I got some more feedback and she said that the narrative isn't fully clear, therefore I need to provide some backstory as in who is the girl? and what is the myth? She also said that I should look at Candy man and bloody mary to link my trailer and storyline to a professional one and do some more additional research. She also thought the acting was weak at the start and not serious therefore I need to change the opening shots. She also thought I should bring the urban legend idea into my trailer to make the characters more fearful. I also need more fast paced action shots to provide sense of disequilibrium, And finally I need to enhance the soundtrack to make it look more scary and some heightened diegetic sound effects.

creating my poster without image
I feel like my poster does fit in with the horror genre because I have used a lot of the codes and conventions that are stereotypcial in horror posters.

Producers Logo
To create my logo for my production I decided to use a black background because I'm creating products for the horror genre, therefore I feel like the black connotes to the horror aspect of my chosen genre.
I then decided on the production company name to be LAW productions because this is my initials and I feel this is an effective name for my production company because it is personalised to me. I then decided to make the LAW in larger writing which is red because this stands out from the productions text in white smaller writing and also these colours represents the horror genre.
I then decided to move the productions text up because I thought it would look better is located further up and there is something else underneath.
I decided to put a yellow lighting bolt underneath because lighting bolts symbolises danger and in the horror genre there is a lot of danger. Its yellow because it contrasts with the other colours.

experiment with fonts
For the text on both my poster and my magazine front cover, I would like my title 'MYTH' in the middle text because I think that text is the most effective because it looks as though it fits in with the horror genre the most. I would also like the rest of my text on my prints to be in the bottom text because this wouldn't be too over the top with too many horror fonts, therefore this wouldn't over power the main text on the page. Also I think these fonts are look professional as some of the posters and magazines I have researched have similar fonts and look really good.

Mind map for names of films
To come up with a name of my film I decided to create a mind map of all the ideas I came up with this is because I couldn't think of a name for my film. I came up with numerous names then I came up with my final name for my film 'Myth', I chose this name because my film is based on a myth in Ferryhill, therefore I thought this would be a good name. I didn't choose the other names I came up with because they weren't very professional sounding names for a horror film and I feel like Myth was the best and most professional name I came up with.

After Effects
I created my title for my trailer in after effects, by using the tutorial on youtube. I think my title is quite good because it does look like it belongs in a horror film because of the blues which connotes to fear like in paranormal activity. I'm going to use this in my trailer because I think it will fit in well with the genre and the storyline of my film.
I also created an inter title for my film on after effects. I created this by using a tutorial on Youtube of how to create moving text. I feel like by having moving inter titles throughout my trailer will create a more interesting trailer and will lure audience in more.

Recce of location - Windmill

For my location for part of my trailer, is an old windmill in Ferryhill, this will be for part of my trailer because there is a myth that 'if you run round the windmill three times on a night then you will hear screaming children that got trapped in a fire'. Also I feel like this myth would make a good plot for my trailer because a lot of people have heard of this myth and it would potentially persuade people to watch the film.
Recce of Location - my house
I want to film part of my trailer in my house because I feel like it is an easy place that would be the best to film in as I always have access to all the time. I also feel as the audience all live in houses then this would allow them to be able to relate to my location therefore would feel like they can connect more with the film and think that this plot could happen to them.
Recce of Location - my garden
To film my trailer I have decided to use my garden as a lot of my target audience have gardens therefore I feel like they could be able to connect more to the film and think like this could happen to them because they would be able to relate more to the film and the storyline because of the location its filmed in.

trailer script
My trailer script is very simple, however this will change throughout the filming stage of my film trailer this is because I know my script is too simple and need improving. In horrror trailers the majority of the sound included is non-diegetic sound and there is only very little dialogue included therefore I have tried to do this.
annomation story board
My annonnation Storyboard is very short, therefore I need to make my actual trailer a lot longer by adding more parts of the film into the trailer. This will make it look more professional and allow the audience a larger insight into what happens within the film.
